I had extensive varicose veins on both my legs (both upper and lower section). These have bothered me for many years. I recently had a radio frequency ablation procedure on both my legs carried out by Mr Moawad. This was done under general anaesthesia in November.
After a few weeks’ recovery, now everything has back to normal. The operation is successful, and I am very pleased with the outcome. He is an experienced good surgeon for this procedure, and I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs it.

Great experience all round.
I had varicose veins on both legs done under local anaesthetic which was uncomfortable but manageable; and Dr Moawad’s humour was a great distraction!
Very slight discomfort for a day or so, and the stockings were a bit annoying but no real pain and I was back at work (reasonably physical job) the next day.
Would definitely recommend.

Mr Magdy Moawad was my surgeon for my varicose vein surgery in September 2021. Mr Moawad has a very dry sense of humour and he puts you at ease straight away. Mr Moawad explained everything about the surgery, he was going to do extremely clearly. On the day of the surgery (I had an afternoon appointment) Mr Moawad comes in and see you in the ward and ask you if you have any questions about the operation and then drawers on your leg so he knows where to go went in the operating theatre. After the operation you are well cared for by the nursing staff. I had no pain from the operation at all, a little bit of discomfort and a little bit of bruising which cleared up very quickly.

Mr Moawad removed my 50 year old varicose vains which were visually ugly and vulnerable to sudden damage and had started to seriously impact the performance of my left leg. The operation under full anaesthetic was a great success. I was impressed by his ease and humoristic approach and above all the professionality of the execution. Its like having a new leg.

Research:
Mr Moawad continuously supports the clinical research and encourages his team to write papers. He also supports his colleagues in the design and analysis of their research.
Magdy is very skilled and confident in database writing, management and understanding of its use in clinical practice. This enabled him to share in the development of information and decision support systems in the NHS.
He devised many database applications that helped in audit and research projects for his colleagues and himself.
Personal interests:
Magdy plays the lute and violin and plays music to raise money for charitable and various other events. His most recent performances were in London, Paris and Sweden.
He was a guest of honor at the BBC world service in April 2013. He played and discussed the relation between music and medicine. This interview lasted one hour.
